Varsity LB & RB Coach

Chad Anderson enters his 9th year on the staff for the Thunderhawks. Coach Anderson has led the running backs and linebackers for the past 8 years.

In addition to coaching his position groups, Coach Anderson also has been highly involved in the Athletic Performance department at Grand Rapids High School, developing multiple state champion and national meet qualifying Olympic weight-lifters. Coach Anderson, originally from Southern Minnesota, has coached football and track in multiple states. His son, Haydn, a 2020 graduate, was a two time captain of the Thunderhawk Football team and currently is pursuing a degree and playing football at the College of St. Scholastica.

Coach Anderson, a Physical Education teacher at East Rapids Elementary, and his wife, Shannon, currently live in Deer River, MN.
